Record Auction Prices for Gavin Bond and Alex Cao
Oct 11th, 2010
This past weekend in New York, artists Alex Guofeng Cao and Gavin Bond, both represented by Guy Hepner, went to auction at Phillips de Pury & Company and sold pieces for record prices.
Alex Cao's work entitled, "Warhol vs. Mao, After Mapplethorpe," reached $10,000 while his "Brigitte Bardot vs. Eve, Creation of Eve," was sold for an impressive $21,250. Additional works have also just been added to Cao's collection, "Decompose/Recompose: Resurrect," at www.guyhepner.com.
Gavin Bond's collection, "Backstage: Volume II," climbed to $22,500 and his new work, "Juste Parce Que Je Suis Belle, Numero Un," from his set "Juste Parce Que Je Suis Belle," sold for a record $26,250. Both Cao and Bond's works hit record prices that even surpassed those of more established artists like David LaChapelle and Steven Klein.
Guy Hepner is proud to announce the release of this new Box Set by Gavin Bond, "Juste Parce Que Je Suis Belle," comprised of a suite of eight 26 x 22 inch photographs on satin paper. The set is now exclusively available at Guy Hepner.
