The Last Picture Show

No icon is more illustrious than Marilyn Monroe, having been immortalized in every conceivable form of the creative arts. In The Last Picture Show, Russell Young makes a fresh attempt at invigorating a much studied subject. Capturing Monroe's likeness in silkscreen on canvas, his images have a shadowy echo towards Warhol, whilst his unique application of diamond dust juxtaposes the potentially morbid persona of the tragic death of Hollywood's greatest star into a shimmering display of light.

Collected around the world and revered as some of the best Monroe inspired artwork of the last decade, The Last Picture Show brings together the most desirable and collectible images from Young's archive, many of which have never been exhibited in public before. The exhibition will open at Guy Hepner in West Hollywood on October 22nd before travellng to Bal Harbour, Fl on November 26th. Both exhibits will be accompanied by a hardcover catalog to commemorate this final showing of this important body of work.
