David LaChapelle: Deluge

Guy Hepner is pleased to present three pieces from David LaChapelle’s Deluge series. A private collector has deaccessioned these incredible works from one of LaChapelle’s most sought after bodies of work.

David LaChapelle’s Deluge series is inspired by works of the Mannerist and Baroque masters—from Michelangelo to Caravaggio and Bernini. Their influence is made clear by LaChapelle’s dramatic use of lighting and religious imagery; the theatricality and vivid colors heighten the intensity and impact. LaChapelle’s keen eye for stark, evocative landscapes has already elicited strong emotional responses.

LaChapelle's Deluge series is a metaphorical representation of civilization’s general tendency toward decadence and decay. It’s for this reason that the images aren’t spontaneous or random; everything is posed by LaChapelle with a precise art historical, cultural, or religious reference in mind.

Please contact the gallery for all inquiries and further information. Appointments are available 7 days a week for private viewing and discussing your collecting needs.
