Josef Hoflehner Photography- Jet Liner Collection

Jun 19th, 2009

Josef Hoflehner who has long been a photographer fascinated with some of the most secluded or abstract places that he could find, is now available through Guy Hepner. His photos include images from such places as Antarctica, Vietnam, China, Japan, the Yemen, Iceland, and most recently, the Deep South of the United States. His photos give the viewer a chance to see things not naturally picked up by the naked eye. Hoflehner has earned numerous awards for his work including, The German Photography Book Award twice, once in 2004 and again in 2005, the Austrian State Prize in 2004, the International Kodak Photo Calendar Award in 2006, as well as the Nature Photographer of the Year in 2007.

His collection of Jet Liner photographs are shots of live-action arriving as well as departing airplanes from the Princess Juliana International Airport in St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies. While shooting this collection Hoflehner was only able to make one shot per plane shooting through the air at 250km per hour. Completing this collection was made even more difficult as these large Boeing 747 airplanes land on a few times per day. It took Josef Hoflehner’s remarkable photographic talent to turn these captivating photos into an entire collection of wide angle, eye catching, beautiful shots of some of the world’s largest and most outstanding airplanes.
