Guy Hepner Contemporary has recently added five new pieces to his collection of Lichtenstein's world acclaimed Reflections Collection. These pieces are rare and in edition of 68 and represent an era of pop art. Lichtenstein was fascinated by reflections and was determined to find a way to represent them in his artwork, using his signature comic book style. In order to represent reflections appropriately in his paintings, he used a mirror to reflect an image, which followed the traditional renaissance technique, to help him determine how to conceptualize the composition of his reflections. The recently acquired pieces in our collection include: Reflections on Brushstrokes, Reflections on Conversation, Reflections on Minerva, Reflections on Hair, and Reflections on Crash.

Roy Lichtenstein is an American painter sculptor and printmaker who reinvented pop art with his paintings based on comic book cartoons.

Guy Hepner Contemporary has newly acquired the 1990 Roy Lichtenstein screenprint, Reflections on the Scream, printed only in an edition of 68. This one of a kind piece is another example of Lichtenstein’s style of work heavily influenced by both popular advertising and the comic book style. He began work on this series of Reflections paintings in 1988, with a theme of making the central image partially obscured, to make it seem as though the image is behind glass or being reflected by a mirror of some sort.

Lichtenstein was a prominent American pop artist, who described Pop art as, "not 'American' painting but actually industrial painting". He is one of the most famous and influential pop artists from the pop movement. He emphasized the use of primary colors and dots to duplicate the look of newspaper type printed comic strip.

Gavin Bond’s newest collection of works, the Platinum Collection, is now available through Guy Hepner Contemporary. This collection is another collection displaying the life and excitement of a backstage view of some of the world's most famous and beautiful Victoria's Secret Models, caught in their most candid moments. These five pieces are available only in editions of 1 printed in a large 60” x 40” inches.

The Platinum Collection is representative of Bond's ability to capture these models in their natural state, while still creating a story-like collection of works, showing each model's personality off of the runway. Within these untitled works are such models as Alessandra Ambrosio, Izabel Goulart, and many others.

Photography by Michael Eastman- Vanishing America

Michael Eastman's portrayal of the suburban sprawl and strip malls that are currently devouring the country, is best described in this collection's title. Vanishing America is the Eastman's effort to take his last opportunity to capture images of old buildings, moviehouses, barbershops, roadside diners, etc, that we might pass every day without even taking a second glance. He creates dreamlike images out of these last remaining and hidden pieces of old American architecture. These photographs, which are never shot using any sort of artificial light, are now available through Guy Hepner Contemporary.

Michael Eastman has been producing fine-art photography for the past thirty years. His work ranging from images of European architecture, to Midwestern storefront, has earned him the recognition of numerous Museums and art institutes around the world, as well as being named one of the recipients of a National Endowment for the Arts grant. His works have been published in Time, The New York Times, Life, American Photographer, and Communications Arts.

New From Photographer Larry Sultan- The Valley

Guy Hepner Contemporary has recently added Larry Sultan's newest collection, The Valley, to his ever expanding collection of contemporary photography. In this collection, Sultan creates a photographic investigation of the homes used as pornographic filming sets. He first took notice of this trend during an editorial assignment in 1999, and since then turned his focus to the surround architecture and the backstage events of the actors and crew, rather than the actual acts of sex. This look and interpretation of the pornographic world is a completely new and innovative look, that no other artist has ever captured into one collection.

Currently he is professor of art at the California College of Arts and Crafts, while he continues to create his own collections of work.

New Photography by William Klein Now Available

Selected photographs by William Klein are now available through Guy Hepner. Seven, Smoke and Veil, and Newspapers are all examples of Klein's ability to re-invent the art of photography. He has developed his own personal style of work by creating photos which are often blurred, out of focus, in high-contrast, as well as in high-grain film and wide angles.

This style has earned him the name of the anti-photographer's photographer in the art world. His style is one of a kind and not easily duplicated.

Photographer Julius Shulman Available Pieces

Julius Shulman, the American photographer, responsible for his unforgettable images of the Californian architecture of the 20th century, is now available through Guy Hepner Contemporary. His collection, Palm Springs Modern, is a comprehensive narrative of the architecture of Southern California. It includes photographs in both color and black and white and show his ability to integrate Palm Springs architecture with the surrounding landscapes.

His work has created its own independent art form of architectural photography, because of his clarity and ability to show not only the building, but show the viewer its place in the landscape as well as give the piece a feeling of life, even when there may not be any life visible within the photograph.

Marilyn Minter Photography Now at Guy Hepner

Marilyn Minter is now available for purchase through Guy Hepner Contemporary. Her images blend both fine and commercial art. They are driven by her fascination with the female body, and are no exception to her erotic and pornographic trend that can be seen in almost all of her works.

Marilyn Minter's photographs and works are often sexual and erotic and her method of painting often incorporates many coats of translucent enamel paint on metal to create an almost hallucinatory finished product.

New Thomas Ruff Photography

Guy Hepner has now added Thomas Ruff to his collection of contemporary photographers available. Thomas Ruff is an internationally renowned German photographer, known for his method of conceptual serial photography. This collection of pieces was derived from pornographic images found on the Internet, which Ruff then digitally processed and obscured. These pieces are both beautiful and yet disturbingly graphic visual material that have the ability to draw the viewer in for a closer look, no matter who the viewer may be.
